The faeries are quite simply the angels of the Earth. This
is because they are the spiritual reflections of nature and dwell
in every living thing that surrounds us. For every aspect of the natural
world, there is a faerie that belongs to it. By the term faerie this
does not just mean the archetypal fluttering flower faerie, but all
beings that express their element. This includes the mermaids of the
sea and the gnomes of the Earth who guard the gems and crystals in
the caves. The term faerie even encompasses the unicorn and the dryads,
who are the spirits of the trees. All these and many, many more are
termed as faeries and belong to the beautiful realm which is the Land
of Faerie.
I believe that the faeries are reaching out to humankind at this time
to help us heal our spiritual relationship with our planet, which
is currently unbalanced. Faeries welcome contact from us and by connecting
with them we can receive help, achieve greater harmony with ourselves
and our environment. This can also help us to experience a greater
sense of magic in our lives that most of us have lost, once we left
childhood behind.
Who are the Faeries?
The word faerie is a general term used to describe all those beings
that dwell in Faerie Land. This place is on the cusp of nature and
melds our two worlds together. Faeries are the spiritual manifestations
and also the guardians of every aspect of nature. Their characteristics
and appearance also mirror the particular facet of nature to which
they belong. For instance a mermaid is a faerie inhabitant of the
water, who has some appearance of a sea creature and their legends
for luring mimic the sometimes dangerous elements of the sea.
Faeries are now emerging once again into human consciousness as
our relationship with nature has become a prevalent issue worldwide.
We can help the environment to heal in many practical ways, but
if our relationship with the Earth is to truly heal we also need
to relearn how to spiritually interact with nature and that means
working with the faeries in all their aspects.
The Faerie Queen
All faerie folk live in societies presided over by a Faerie King
and Queen. These fey monarchs are the elite of faerie and magical
power and are incredibly beautiful and compelling spiritual beings
akin to gods and goddesses. In this Journey to the Faerie Ring I
have chosen a Faerie Queen to guide you in your meditation as she
commands the ultimate source of love and protection in Faerie Land.
She will be there to hold your hand and be your spiritual guiding
light.
