THE AMERICAN INDIAN COLLEGE FUND - EDUCATING THE MIND & SPIRIT
Profits from this CD will go towards The American Indian College Fund.

The American Indian College Fund provides scholarships and other support for the nation's 34 trbal colleges. These tribal colleges play a vital role in preparing students for a brighter tomorrow, offering accredited degrees while keeping them in touch with their Indian culture.

The colleges currently serve more than 30,000 part-and full-time students, representing over 250 tribes. The scholarships support 6,000 American Indian students seeking to better their lives through continued education.

  • Key Facts:

American Indians have the lowest level of college degree attainment of any group on the US.

85% of tribal college students subsist at or below the national poverty line; 98% need financial aid.

One year after graduating, over 90% of tribal college students are working or pursuing a higher degree.

56% of tribal college graduates go on to a non-Indian college or university, exceeding the transfer rate of community colleges students nationwide.

Why does Paradise Music want to donate towards The American Indian College Fund?

Each scholarship awarded to a tribal college student through the American Indian College Fund can mean the difference between receiving a college degree or dropping out. In 2003, the Fund distributed $4.2 million in scholarships and program support to the tribal colleges which directly translated into more than 6,000 scholarships. Selected on the basis of academic success, financial need, and community involvement, these students are using higher education to better their lives and their tribal communities.
